Who We Are
The Austin Baptist Association (ABA) collaborates with Great Commission churches to spread the transformative power of the Gospel, impacting both our local community and the world.
Partnering with YOU to Reach Austin
The Austin Baptist Association is an alliance of participating congregations fulfilling the Great Commission.
It is our desire for every Southern Baptist church in Austin to be a participating member of the ABA.
The qualifications laid out by the ABA Constitution are simple:
Each member church is encouraged to contribute 3% of its undesignated annual receipts to the work of the ABA. The minimum level of participation will be either 1% of undesignated annual receipts of $30,000.00 (whichever is less).
At least once every three years, each member church will be involved in sponsoring, co-sponsoring, partnering with or otherwise actively participating in a new church plant in the Austin area.
Each member church will participate in “Great Commission” efforts with ABA member churches at least once a year.
Each member church will submit an annual report prior to the October Regular Meeting.
The Strategic Priorities of the ABA
ABA use its strengths to come alongside member churches in catalytic activities to ensure ownership of the Mission
The ABA Leadership Team constantly discusses how ABA churches can best be equipped. The results of these discussions has recently provided monthly meeting topics that include:
Financial Issues Plaguing the Church
Group Discussion on what it means to “Live on Mission”.
Seminar on what it means to Serve as a Deacon.
Future planned discussions include include discussions on social justice (homelessness, adoption, etc.) and “best practices” conversations about church events such as baptism, communion, advent, revival and evangelism as well as outreach.
The ABA desires for all of the member churches to be a part of these discussions.
The ABA desires to provide relevant discussions and topics to equip churches to move their ministry forward.
